フランスの飼い雄鶏「リッコ」が、鳴きすぎだと訴えられ、「騒音ではない」と裁判所が認めた。

In the Boussieu hamlet of Nivolas-Vermelle, in Isère in eastern France, a pet rooster called Ricco had been sued by a neighbour for crowing too much.

On 4 July 2025 the court at Bourgoin-Jallieu found for the owners — 'this is not noise; one has the right to live in the countryside' — and ordered the neighbour who had brought the suit to pay 2,000 euros for moral damage and 1,500 euros in legal costs, 3,500 in all.

Ricco himself, however, had been eaten by a fox at the start of June, before the verdict came. The owner, Alexia Charreton, said she meant to celebrate the win by making a giant omelette with the neighbours.
