スウェーデン西部、ヨーテボリの近くにあるアレ市は、2026年3月3日、住宅地や庭、遊び場を荒らすイノシシを駆除し、その肉を学校の給食や老人ホームの食卓に出す、という案を可決した。
市内の猟の団体は、この5年で年に200頭から300頭を駆除してきた。市は、一度に5頭、合わせて最大100頭を買い取ることを見込んでいる。子どもや高齢者に出す前には、旋毛虫の検査をする。
提案した地域整備委員会の議長エディ・グランスは、これを「三方良しだ」と述べた。提供は、秋の猟の解禁にあわせて始めることを目指している。
On 3 March 2026 the municipality of Ale, near Gothenburg in western Sweden, approved a plan to cull the wild boar that tear up homes, gardens and playgrounds, and to serve the meat in school lunches and care-home meals.
Local hunting teams have culled 200 to 300 boar a year over the past five years. The municipality expects to buy up to five at a time, up to a hundred in all. Before it is served to children or the elderly, the meat is to be tested for trichinella.
The chair of the planning committee, Eddie Glans, called it 'a win, win, win.' The plan is to begin at the start of the autumn hunting season.
