🇰🇬 Jayyl District, Chuy Region, Kyrgyzstan

At a flea market in the Jayyl district of Chuy Region, Kyrgyzstan, Soviet-era dolls are selling. They are plastic dolls produced in the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s; a mid-sized one goes for about 1,000 som, while large ones in good condition fetch up to 5,000 som. Vladimir, a resident of Kara-Balta, the district's main town, is among the buyers. 'They have a beauty of their own, they are easy to handle, and children like them,' a shopper at the market says. Buyers cite that they break less easily than modern dolls. The local news agency Turmush reported it on June 9.
