オーストラリアのユーロボダラ郡が、ウサギの飼育の上限を1匹から4匹に引き上げた。

On 16 December 2025 the Eurobodalla Shire, on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia, revised its animal-keeping policy and raised the cap on the number of rabbits that may be kept on one property from one to four.

Of the fifty-nine submissions received after the draft was put on public exhibition, nearly half were about the keeping of rabbits. Keeping two or more now requires meeting set welfare standards.

The shire deals with about a thousand nuisance-animal complaints a year — barking dogs, stray dogs, roosters, cats that attack wildlife — yet has issued only three orders in four years. The policy is to be reviewed in a year. The mayor is Mathew Hatcher.
