The village of Harbach, in Austria, unanimously decides to revise its dog tax for the first time since 2011.

The village of Harbach, in Lower Austria, decided unanimously at its council meeting of 2 September 2025 to revise the tax on dogs (the Hundeabgabe). It takes effect on 1 January 2026.

The tax was last revised in 2011, so this is the first change in fourteen years.

After the revision the rates are 6.54 euros for working dogs, 90 euros for dangerous dogs, and 40 euros for all other dogs. The working-dog rate was left unchanged, being fixed by law. The earlier rate for ordinary dogs is not given in the minutes.
