イングランド南部ハンプシャー州のチョートン教区会は、2025年2月18日の会で、村のごみ拾いを3月15日に行うと決めた。
当日は午前9時半に村の集会所に集まり、終わったあとはコーヒーと菓子を出す。書記が、追加のごみ回収を手配し、サイトへの掲載と住民へのメールを受け持つ。
チョートンは、作家ジェーン・オースティンが生涯の最後の8年を過ごし、その地で亡くなった村として知られる。近くの町オルトンから南東へおよそ1.5キロにある。
On 18 February 2025 the parish council of Chawton, in Hampshire in southern England, decided to hold a village litter-pick on 15 March.
On the day, people would gather at the village hall at 9.30 a.m., with coffee and biscuits afterwards. The clerk would arrange an extra rubbish collection and handle the website notice and an email to residents.
Chawton is known as the village where the writer Jane Austen spent the last eight years of her life. It lies about one and a half kilometres south-east of the nearby town of Alton.
