The Central Darling Shire, in Australia, places the strictest, third-stage water restrictions on the settlement of White Cliffs, where the supply has run low.

On 28 May 2025 the Central Darling Shire, in New South Wales, Australia, decided to place stage-three water restrictions on the settlement of White Cliffs, because the water supply had run low.

The shire's elected council has been dismissed, and the decision was taken by a single administrator, Bob Stewart. The council also asked the general manager to bring forward a report on the water arrangements for another settlement, Tilpa.

White Cliffs, a former opal-mining field, is a remote inland place of fewer than two hundred people, about 270 kilometres north-north-east of Broken Hill.
