President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan issued an order delaying the start of the workday for all government agencies to 10:00 a.m. on 18 June 2026, the day Uzbekistan played its first-ever FIFA World Cup match. The presidential press secretary announced the measure.

Uzbekistan is a landlocked Central Asian country of around 37 million people, and the 2026 World Cup marked its first appearance at the tournament. Because of the kick-off time and the time difference, watching the match in Uzbekistan fell in the late-night to early-morning hours.

The measure applied to 18 June only and was issued as a presidential order, allowing government employees to watch the match and still report to work at the later start time.
