Leuwi Limus village decides to put a fifth of its fund toward food security, and discusses how to spend it at a village meeting.

On Wednesday 19 February 2025, the village of Leuwi Limus, in Cikande district of Serang Regency in the western-Javanese province of Banten, Indonesia, held a village meeting (a musyawarah desa) at the hall of the village office.

The matter before it was how to carry out the national guidance (Village Ministry Regulation No. 2 of 2024) that at least a fifth of the 2025 portion of the village fund (the Dana Desa) be set aside for food security.

After discussion, all present agreed to take up four fields, in turn: fish farming; modern agriculture, including hydroponics; the keeping of livestock such as sheep, ducks, chickens and cattle; and the processing of animal feed. They also confirmed that a "food-security group" would need to be formed.

Those present included the village assembly (the BPD), village staff, the community-empowerment body (the LPM), the family-welfare group, the youth association, local notables and the heads of each block and neighbourhood unit. The meeting was led by the village facilitator, M. Rois. No figures for money, head of livestock or scale of equipment appear in the record.
